While traveling through southern Poland - I felt compelled to go to Auschwitz outside the town of Oświęcim . It is an unsettling, sickening experience walking under that sign in the knowledge that many who came here actually believed the lie that was inscribed on the sign - Arbeit Macht Frei - and then met a horrible fate. I just happened to catch this Jewish person going through the gate and it really shook me. EVERYONE needs to know about this horrible place and what went on so we can help to prevent something like this from EVER happening again.
